Human Disease Modeling

1 Year Contract – Boston

Position Description:

Seeking a cell biologist for a research associate position in a new team, “Cell Hub” within the Human Disease Modeling group. The Cell Hub will focus on the production of cell biomass for the most important assays. Experience with aseptic technique when culturing mammalian cells is required. The successful candidate should be highly self-motivated, have outstanding technical and communication skills, high attention to detail, and be capable of working independently on the execution of experiments. Above all, we are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual with a passion for in vitro cell culture who enjoys working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative team environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carefully follow SOPs to produce biomass for critical assays
  • Enable automation of workflows by collaborating with automation engineers
  • Conducts own experimental troubleshooting on routine problems
  • Maintain an up to date and accurate electronic lab notebook
  • Present studies effectively at internal Group/Department or Project Team research meetings
  • Cell models under study may include immortalized cell lines, iPSC derived cell types, and primary tissue derived cultures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Education Level

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent degree) in biological science and 0-2 years of relevant employment experience, or
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent degree) in biological science and 4+ years of relevant employment experience
