6+ Month Contract role, with potential to extend or convert to a permanent role. 3+ years of relevant professional support experience required. This role will be critical in providing ad hoc assistance as needed for the following initiatives: EMSSP, Year Up, external community events supported by this large Pharma company, processing Company sponsorships/memberships and additional projects as assigned.

Lenox Executive Search is seeking an experienced Community Affairs Specialist to fill an 6+ month contractual temp-to-perm role with a global pharmaceutical company in Boston, MA. . The role will begin remotely and transition to a hybrid, partial onsite role in 2022.

REQUIREMENTS for the Community Affairs Specialist:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5 years’ professional experience in support staff role (no more than 5)
  • Passionate about connecting students to cutting-edge technology and careers STEM/STEAM
  • Experience or interest working with diverse students
  • Detail oriented
  • Great communication skills
  • Ability to keep up with fast paced environment, ability to pivot
  • Experience with Concur highly preferred
  • Professionalism and confidence
  • Interaction with external vendors
  • Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize work; problem solve while meeting aggressive timelines
  • Highly organized and able to manage and coordinate schedules for a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences with varying skill sets and/or levels of seniority
  • Project or program management experience, including budget management, with demonstrated attention to detail
  • Excellent presentation, administrative and communication skills
  • Demonstrates advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel etc.)
  • Skilled relationship builder

RESPONSIBILITIES of the Community Affairs Specialist:

  • Supporting community workforce development program by providing support on Vertex sponsored events, mentor/mentee communications and duties as assigned
  • Assist with onsite events (ordering catering, reserving rooms etc.) related to our various community partnerships
  • Providing administrative support to process Company sponsorships and memberships
  • Manage the Community Affairs team calendar of events
  • Coordinating and helping prepare meeting materials, including agenda preparation/distribution, collecting/printing meeting pre-reads, assembling / editing PowerPoint presentations, collation of meeting minutes for bi-weekly leadership team meetings, and monthly full-team meetings.
  • Providing project management support of all external affairs activities to ensure timely execution and cross-functional collaboration
