12+ month ONSITE Contract role with strong potential to extend. Part-Time – 24 hours per week, 3 days per week (days are flexible). REQUIRED: RN degree with minimum of 2+ years Occupational Health or ER experience. The right candidate will be instrumental in implementing and delivering occupational health programs to employees in order to achieve a healthy and safe work environment. Must have some Occupational Health experience on the resume.
Lenox Executive Search is seeking an experienced Occupational Health Nurse to fill a 12+ month, with potential to extend, contractual role with a global pharmaceutical company in Waltham, MA.Must have a Massachusetts Board of Nursing Registered Nursing License-unrestricted license.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH NURSE:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
- Registered Nursing Degree
- Massachusetts Board of Nursing Registered Nursing License-unrestricted license
- 2+years’ experience in Occupational Health or Emergency Room nursing
- Strong clinical assessment skills and comfort working independently
- Strong interpersonal & communication skills
- Proficient computer skills a must & strong critical problem-solving skills
- Strong triage skills & Good assessment skills are a must
- CPR/AED certified
- Phlebotomy experience
- Pharma industry experience a BIG PLUS
- Nursing home and Rehab experience is not a good fit for this role.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH NURSE:
- Provide basic first aid to employees
- Workers’ Compensation injury and illness evaluation (within the scope of practice), treatment, and case management
- Work closely with HSE regarding Industrial Hygiene data interpretation as related to surveillance/PPE; medical recommendations in work risk assessments; work-related injuries and illnesses prevention; accommodations and return to work
- Assist in accident investigation to ensure completion of all action items related to the health of the employee
- Monitor Covid-19 cases and follow NAOH Covid-19 protocols
- Ensure medical surveillance for employees (Vision, Respiratory, HAZMAT, Hearing) are accurate and up to date through direct communication with employees, managers, and HSE.
- Manage the MERT (Medical Emergency Response Team) to include ongoing training activities
- Hepatitis B immunizations and AEDs for sites as assigned
- Work with site managers and HR regarding work accommodations, return to work, EAP, fit-for-duty evaluations, ADA issues, etc.
- Maintain all medical information per OH, legal, HIPAA, and ethical guidelines
- Appraise safety and health hazards in the work environment during site rounds
- Documenting employee injuries & Illnesses, including follow-up and referrals
- Maintain AEDs and first aid supplies through monthly checks
- Maintain the supplies and equipment of the site Health Center as assigned
- Utilize nursing knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking skills to assess medical surveillance documentation to provide determinations related to the employee’s status in appropriate medical surveillance programs
- Support site-specific wellness initiatives
- Provide Travel Consultations to employees

Pay: From $60.00 per hour
