Job Description

Lenox Executive Search is seeking a highly motivated biologist to join the Molecular and Cell Biology group. The successful candidate will design, validate and execute relevant assays to study disease phenotype in primary human cells, understand mechanism of action of hit compounds, and to support target identification and validation. Additional responsibilities will include validation of automation systems used for primary human cell culture and molecular biology assays. Successful candidate should be able to independently define priorities, plan and execute work to meet deadlines for multiple projects in parallel. He/She should be a highly motivated, hard-working person with good knowledge of cellular and molecular biology.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in cell biology, developmental biology or related scientific area
  • Must have a minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working with human primary stem cells and proficient in cell culture
  • Must have experience with a wide spectrum of molecular biology, biochemistry and imaging-based assays (DNA/RNA extraction, QPCR, ddPCR, sequencing, Western Blot, immunocytochemistry)
  • Must be able to independently execute experiments, analyze and present data
  • The successful candidate must be results orientated, self-motivated, and well-organized
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Exceptional multitasking skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team in a matrix organization, ability to adapt to a time-line driven work environment
  • A desire to be part of a highly innovative company that aims to transform the lives of people with serious diseases, their families, and society

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in cell or developmental biology
  • Basic understanding of the use of stem cells in drug discovery processes is a plus
  • Experience in working in an industry environment is desired
