Vaccine Research Scientist (s209)

12+ month Onsite Contract role in Swiftwater, PA. with strong potential to extend. Open to candidates early in their careers. Bachelors degree (NO MS or PhD) with 1-3 years of lab experience required. Pay rate range $35-$40/hour.

Lenox Executive Search is seeking an experienced Research Scientist to fill an 12+ month extendable contractual role with a global pharmaceutical company in Swiftwater, PA.. Strong preference for experience working with viruses and running hemagglutination testing.

REQUIREMENTS for the Research Scientist:

• Bachelor’s degree required (MS & PhD overqualified); science/biology field preferred.
• 1-3 years of laboratory experience (academic lab experience accepted) More that 3 years experience overqualified
• Possibility of OT/ weekends work, however rare
• This role works directly with Work with Animal products & Eggs products, noted in case of chicken or egg allergy
• MS Office Suite
• Must have lab experience displayed on resume
• Running hemagglutination testing a plus
• SDS-PAGE chromatography a plus
• PCR a plus
• Experience working with viruses is a plus

RESPONSIBILITIES of the Research Scientist:

• Execution of small scale experiments, working with eggs and flu virus.
• Support and assist production of high growing flu virus reassortants, flu reference antigen, and antisera.
• Running hemagglutination testing, SDS-PAGE, chromatography, and PCR.
• Ordering and maintaining supplies and materials and shipping materials as needed.
• Working with outside vendors as needed.
• Shipping biological samples for sequencing.
• Writing internal development protocols and reports related to project.
• Sample management between labs, manufacturing buildings, and analytical sciences department.
